We collect information you provide directly: email address, username, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash). We also collect usage data including conversation durations, rooms created, and personas used to provide and improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the Personaplex voice chat service
To authenticate your account and maintain security
To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, billing)
To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
To improve our AI models and service quality

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Personaplex (including Heroku for hosting, Stripe for payments, and Resend for email delivery). All providers are bound by data processing agreements.

4. Voice Data

Voice audio captured during conversations is processed in real-time for speech recognition and is not permanently stored. Voice cloning samples you upload are stored securely and used only to generate your custom AI persona voice.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

Access: Export all your data via Settings → Export Data
Erasure: Delete your account via Settings → Delete Account
Portability: Download your data in JSON format
Rectification: Update your profile information at any time

6. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie (token) essential to your session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Analytics, if enabled, use privacy-preserving methods.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is anonymized immediately. Billing records required by law are retained for 7 years.
